Eco Media Center of Monroe County (E~MC2) is a project of the Center for Sustainable Living (CSL), a 501 (c) 3 non profit based in Bloomington, Indiana.
Current activities:
> {EcoLink} grassroots calendar - an online newsletter with notices & events listings for local, regional, national & global groups & campaigns relating to social justice & ecological awareness.
> OMgarten (Organic Meals garden projex) - urban gardening for hunger relief agencies, with a lasagna raingarten on the B-Line Trail in downtown Bloomington, a season extension plot at Willie Streeter Community Garden in Winslow Woods park. OMgarten will also be helping the Area 10 Agency on Aging with the first community garden in Ellettsville, Indiana.
> OIKOS KIOSKS - a prototype bio info node will soon be erected within a new downtown recycling drop-off point to be located just west of City Hall, in place of some nineteen parking spaces, utilizing solar power & water catchment to farm the cityscape. An eco-kiosk array combining a community media outlet with growing medium as the message.
> WME3tv - programming for community media outlets, including CATS Cable Ch. 7.
