Clips Beer and Film Festival

Clips Film Festival PosterJoin us for the 2013 Clips Beer & Film Film Festival on Friday, May 31st in Bryan Park from 8:00pm to 11:00pm.   (If you’re interested in submitting a film to the festival, please visit http://www.newbelgium.com/clips/submit-your-film.aspx.)

All ages are welcome and entrance is FREE.  The film festival, sponsored by New Belgium Brewing Company, will feature inspirational short films about bicycling and sustainability around the world.  Food and beer will be available for purchase.  We encourage everyone to bicycle, walk or carpool to the event if you can.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!  This fundraiser for the CSL requires 75 volunteers, including 40 people with bartender permits to assist with serving beer.  We are looking for an additional 19 volunteers to commit by Wednesday, May 1st Monday May 13th so that they can apply for temporary bartender permits.  Here is a brief description of the different positions:

  • 6 people to set up starting at 10:00am
  • 8 people at the front desk (6pm-10pm)
  • 2 bicycle valets
  • 35+ beer servers and beer gypsies (6pm-10pm) – bartender permit required
  • 12+ wrist band ID and tokens personnel (6pm-10pm)
  • 2 beer adventure game coordinators (6pm-10pm) – bartender permit required
  • 1 merchandise tent salesperson  (6pm-10pm)
  • 1 hops kitchen person (6pm-10pm) – bartender permit required
  • 1 Fat Tire booth person (6pm-10pm) – bartender permit required

All volunteers will receive 3 free raffle tickets for the bicycle drawing, a “Film Tour” t-shirt, and New Belgium’s Beer as a thank you from the CSL.  To volunteer, please fill out a temporary bartender application and return it by mail to event organizers Steve and Zoe Dean at 631 Timber Ridge Road, Spencer, IN, 47460 or by e-mail at sdean@bluemarble.net or by fax (please call first) at 812-829-9238.  We will compile and submit all applications at once.

 

About the Event…

Those over 21 may  join us in the beer tent and purchase samples of New Belgium Brewing Company’s famous microbrews such as Cocoa Mole Ale, Fat Tire, Blue Paddle, Belgo IPA, Shift, and Valentine Brew.  This is a cash only event and you will need ID to access the beer tent.  No more than 12oz will be served at one time.

In addition to food, films, libations, and New Belgium Brewing merchandise, there will also be a raffle to give away an awesome bike! Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.  Tickets can be purchased at the event orin advance,  from any CSL board member.   Proceeds benefit the Center for Sustainable Living and several of its projects, including the Community Bike Project.  If you would like to support this event by volunteering, please contact Steve and Zoe Dean at sdean@bluemarble.net or 812-829-9238.
